Endorsement
Endorsement, in insurance, refers to a policy endorsement, a separate, legally binding document that amends, adds to, deletes from, or otherwise modifies the terms, conditions, limits or coverage of the insurance policy to which it is attached. Policy endorsements are used to customize insurance policies to reflect the specific risks or insuring requirements of the policyholder. Once issued, an endorsement forms part of the insurance contract and is enforceable in the same manner as the original policy wording. Also called a policy rider.
