Cell Captive
A ‘Cell Captive’ is a special type of captive insurance company that allows multiple companies (or “participants”) to each operate their own separate insurance programs under one shared legal structure. Each company uses a “cell” within the larger entity, which is often called a protected cell company (PCC) or segregated portfolio company (SPC). Each of these cells operates independently of the others with the assets for each cell kept fully segregated.
